Dear Diary - Chapter 1 - Page 2

My name is Maria Cassandra Bree and I’m 19 years old, and today is my last day at Hope High. We start a bit late today as it is literally just graduating day.

Everyone had a blast and I guess I did too, though I wish my family was there.

it’s okay, I got the rest of my life with them, and I’m not the type of girl that gets angry over small stuff that's not worth my time.

It seems like everyone has plans for the summer, not me though I just want to stay here, Hope Bay is beautiful in the summer, and I’ve noticed my favorite flower shop is hiring, I can’t believe the store is still in business, and it's all thanks too the lovely people of Shallow Hope.

People here always take care of each other, they’re all just so happy, but I can’t shake the feeling of unease, it’s like they're all deeply depressed but pretending they're not, could it be real? Or is it just me, as people keep telling me I’ve changed, even though I can’t think about anything that would make them say that.

I don’t like it, but it doesn’t bother me as much as it probably should, if I change it's probably meant to be.

A distant voice yelled: Hey Maria! Aren’t you coming?  My friend Mika interrupted my writing. I told them I got something to do, but that  I will catch up with them later..

I’ve set my heart and focus on getting that job at the local flower shop, the old couple owning it has run the shop their entire life, sad to see the old man getting older and older, he’s always been so nice to me and the thought of him gone is unthinkable.

He lost his wife a few years ago, Nobody showed up to the funeral except him and this oddly well dressed young man, I was just a kid back then but “Him” I remember.  I never saw him after that, so he can’t be from Shallow Hope, Unless….
